Ever look around and think, ‘somebody should do something?’
When you’re stuck in a broken recovery system, it can feel like there’s nobody there to help you get back on your feet. But when we stick together, we can build the power we need to create real solutions and improve our day to day lives. All we need are the right tools for the job.
NJRP is coming to you, live and in person, for a special training series on how to organize and win as everyday people, Jersey-style. Come meet fellow NJRP members, and learn specific skills and strategies we use in the Statehouse, in the press, and in our communities to make the real changes we need.
RSVP here, or down in the form at the bottom of this post.
What: Three training sessions where you’ll learn, participate, and share your direct experience and expertise – in an environment where we put people first, not political parties.
- What is organizing, and how do we do it? Organizing is not something we do alone, but with others. We’ll teach you the basic building blocks of how to recruit and work with others facing similar issues in your community.
- How to tell a powerful story – in the press, in the Statehouse, and beyond. It’s not just politicians, news anchors, and lawyers who get to tell the stories about our communities. We can turn up the volume and change how the public and the people in power hear our voices.
- How to raise money to win real solutions. Power is organized people and organized money. Things are expensive! We need to raise funds in order to do our work and win in our communities. We’ll dig into why that is scary (if it is for you!) and how we make it happen even if we’re scared.
Where: Ocean County, NJ. RSVP for the full address of the training location.
When: Sunday, September 28th, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Snacks, drinks, and breaks will be provided throughout the day.
Who: New Jersey Resource Project staff, board, and member leaders – so, you! You don’t have to have been to a training session with us before, as this training is what we call our “organizing 101” level. If you’ve been to one of our previous trainings (including the version of this training that we hosted in Bernardsville in June), you’re still welcome to join, but you might have already heard some of what we’ll be instructing on.
